The forest consists primarily of oak, hornbeam, cherry, hazelnut, chestnut and maple trees, but its originality lies in the artificially introduced species that are beautifully scattered throughout the area: Weymouth pines mixed with spruces and maritime pines, lines of linden and plane trees as well as artistically arranged bouquets of conifers.
The forest of Candé is also a genuine reserve: deer, hares, rabbits, foxes, etc. frolic freely in this area. The site is home to more than 150 species of protected nesting birds, amphibians and reptiles, majestic butterflies and bats.
